Richard and Frank established Lodi Welding in 1964 with a passion for ironwork and a fine appreciation for works of the past. Lodi Welding’s unique skill and strong knowledge of the trade traces back to Antwerp Belgium. This mastery of metalworking was brought to The United States when the family-owned business opened its doors in Lodi New Jersey. Since then, the company has grown and expanded with each and every unique project it has under taken.
Currently, Lodi Welding is operated by third and fourth generation blacksmiths (Donald Buschgans and Kate Buschgans Germani). “We’ve just recently discovered that blacksmithing is a trade practiced by both sides of our family tree” says Kate. Our focus is the creation, recreation and restoration of fine metal works. Lodi Welding is one of the few companies that works with all metals! We continue the old tradition of the hammer, anvil, and forge by keeping the craft handmade.
“He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.”
St. Francis of Assisi
